hypo – x – series: the book

El libro “Hypo – X – Series” (del que hablábamos aquí) se ha publicado. Puede verse un preview de las primeras quince páginas.
“Acerca de Hypo – X – Series“ (según Azurebumble):
his book is the result of an online collaboration between ‘ 111 ‘ international artists and photographers, where by simply utilising the infrastructure of the photo sharing website ‘flickr’ we have managed to communicate, interact and gather together all the necessary images and information needed to produce this record of our activities.
This project is the culmination of 9 months involvement with the webite ‘flickr’ as a user. In the beginning I had simply explored the profusion of groups and images available to me, whilst learning the social etiquette and investigating the possibilities of the various functions and codes, however I soon became more pro-active through the creation of specific groups designed toward my own aesthetic tastes and interests. Consequently this brought together a number of artists whose work appeared to have reasonably strong connections, therefore I began to construct ‘online’ exhibitions of their work as individuals and then as groups.
The catalyst for this project probably resides in the disappointment I felt when these ‘virtual curations’ started to slowly dissipate as people moved on, altered or even deleted their images, and it became clear that quite a lot of material situated ‘online’ could be considered as ephemeral in nature, and therefore vulnerable to degradation over time. Consequently, I took the opportunity to propose this ‘group document’.
