rhizome group: el rizoma y los awards

Hoy hemos inaugurado “Rhizome group“. Se trata de un nuevo grupo en Flickr que dice:

…the mission of this group is to bring attention to quality works, a place where good material can be found, to facilitate relationship and links among interesting artists, and rather than a static container of information, this aims to be a platform for photographs, paintings, drawings, collages, mixed media and etc…

Cuyas reglas son:

# For every shot you post, give an award to four images in the pool.
# Thoughtful comments are desirable. ‘Wow comments’ (“one subject + one verb + one compl-i-ment”) are also welcomed, probably because all of us enjoy when someone’s interested in any way for ourselves.
# You can post 1 shot per day.
# Nudes and any other work are welcome as long as they have a sense. If we consider any image posted here does not fit this group’s quality standards, we’ll delete them.
# Use the invite code -if you want- and leave it for non-members to join us. Use your judgement, and ensure that the image you invite is interesting enough for this group (creativity, quality, content).
# You can only repost an image once.
# Would be nice if you tag your image with ‘rhizome-awards’.
# Images with 5 awards of this group can enter to a premium level: the Rhizome Premium group. Oh, isn’t it marvelous?

In A Thousand Plateaus, Deleuze and Guattari use the image of the rhizome (as opposed to the model of the tree) to refer to an organisation of a book which is capable of escaping from its traditional image. This group sets out to establish its organisation model and discourse analysis based on the nature of the rhizome, in its expansive wealth and complexity.

From a conviction that, in addition to providing the cultural spaces with new tools for the dissemination and communication of their projects, the new technologies also generate new forms of understanding and experiencing them, the mission of this group is to bring attention to quality works, a place where good material can be found, to facilitate relationship and links among interesting artists, and rather than a static container of information, this aims to be a platform for photographs, paintings, drawings, collages, mixed media and etc..

En Mil mesetas, Deleuze y Guatari utilizan la imagen del rizoma (por oposición al modelo de árbol) para referirse a una organización del libro capaz de escapar a su imagen tradicional. Este grupo pretende establecer su modelo de organización y análisis discursivo basándose en la naturaleza del rizoma, en su riqueza y complejidad expansiva.

Desde la convicción de que más allá de ofrecer a los espacios culturales nuevas herramientas de difusión y comunicación de sus proyectos, las nuevas tecnologías generan también nuevas formas de entenderlos y vivirlos, la misión de este grupo es atraer atención -y brindarla- a obras de calidad, convertirse en un lugar en el que es posible encontrar buen material, facilitar relaciones y vínculos entre artistas interesantes, y más que un contenedor estático de información, ser una plataforma para fotografías, pinturas, dibujos, collages, y un largo etcétera…
